"Lord of the Flies"

C. Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?

The characters in this novel (Lord of the Flies) are Ralph, Jack, Simon, Piggy, Roger, and other boys. Ralph is the chief between the boys, and he is the protagonist in this novel. Jack is the other chief and he is the antagonist in this novel. Jack has against mind to Ralph. He makes odd things to Ralph. I liked Simon best between all the characters in the novel. He is sensitive and he behaves nice to other boys in the island which they settled and wanted to escape. He gives useful ideas to the boys so that they can survive in that island. Also, I liked Piggy and Ralph. I liked Piggy because he got some helpful ideas for the boys and I liked Ralph because I think he led the boys into positive way to escape the island where they were located in. However, I didn’t like Jack because he disturbed the other boys’ plans and he makes disagreements to Ralph. I think the special things about the boys are they have changed while they tried to survive from the island. In my opinion, the way that the boys changed mind reveals the universal human experience, because I could know the inside of the human’s mind by that. At first time, the boys had negative mind, but their mind changed to positive mind. They really wanted to rescue by planning ideas to escape the island. Ralph reveals that the leader’s mind and wants to keep the safe and peaceful island where they were at.
