"The Giver"

D. What is the climax of this novel? What happens? How do the events of this novel make you feel?

-After Jonas got his own assignment, which is the Receiver of Memory, he had training with The Giver. On Jonas’s first training, The Giver transmitted the memory of the snow. Jonas got through the situation of sledding. Also, he could feel the cold air and he could see his own breath. Jonas felt it was surprising and later The Giver transmits the memory of snow again. However that memory of snow and memory of rainbow was not painful at all. He felt exciting when he received the memory of snow, and he could see the colors after he received the memory of rainbow. Originally, the job Receive of Memory is really painful to do. When Jonas did his first painful receiving, his face was wet with tears and he felt awful, but he couldn’t get the relief-of-pain because that was the rule for the Receiver of Memory. I think the climax starts from this part. He will go through the hard time on his training and he already got through one of it. This part make feel me very odd, because this assignment was not what Jonas wanted and his assignment had many secrets not to tell to somebody even his family. Also, only a few people were selected to do the Receiver of Memory because it is a much harder job than the other jobs. If I were Jonas, I would feel sorrow for it. I hope Jonas will be patient when he does his training because Jonas cannot change his assignment
